Toilet Paper

I discovered something super fun today....toilet paper is fun to play with!!!  I like to take it off the roll and rip it into little pieces.  Mom would normally get upset at this sort of thing but it made her laugh because she says Uncle Jeffrey used to do that a lot when he was a baby.  At least I didn't call 911 like he did!!
Here I am in action :)
Thankfully, Grandma came over to play and kept me busy so I didn't rip toilet paper all day long.  Daddy got a new weedeater and a barbecue pit so we had some really good dinner.  Daddy is a really great cook!  Mommy needs to work on her cooking skills.  At least she made some cupcakes for Daddy so he'll be happy.  I wonder what we're gonna do tomorrow.

Memorial Weekend

We really didn't have anything special planned for Memorial Day Weekend.  On Friday night I got to go to Grandma's for a while so that Mommy could go see a movie with her friends called "Something" and the City.  She says she'll tell me all about what that something is when I'm older.

Saturday we decided to go to Fullerton to go barbecue with Grampoo (that's mommy's Nino, in case you forgot).  We brought the fishy pool that Great Grandma Toots gave me for Easter.  I got to play in it with my cousin Scarlett.  She didn't like the pool at first, but once she got used to the water we had fun.  I also decided that I like to gnaw on corn on the cob.  It's pretty tasty, but Daddy says he's waiting to see if I wind up with corn in my poop.  Gross Daddy!!!

Sleep Repercussions

These pictures were taken of me last night.  I got to wear big girl pajamas because my sleepers were dirty.  I really dig the popsicle on the front.

Mom said I was ready to be a big girl and sleep in my big girl crib in my big girl jammies.  Except there was one problem....I spent last night sleeping at Grandma's house cuddling with her all night.  So, I'd rather do that instead of sleeping in my big girl crib.  Mom said it was an awful night.  I didn't want to sleep alone.  I didn't want to sleep in my crib.  And even when mom finally gave in and let me sleep with her and Daddy, I tossed and turned all night.  Mom woke up for work pretty upset with me.  Maybe I'll do better tonight so she can get some rest.

In the meantime, Daddy and I went to the bay today.  It was really pretty outside.  As you can tell, once again, my daddy dressed me so my hair is not combed or accessorized.  Mom has to teach him about matching things.

Sleepover at Grandma's and Dim Sum

Last night I spent the night at Grandma's house for the very first time.  Mommy had never ever spent a night without me.  I had fun at Grandma's because she loves to play with me.  Mommy and Daddy had a date and it was nice for them since they hadn't had a date alone in a long time.

Sunday after church, we had Dim Sum with some friends.  Mommy's best friend Marissa just moved back to California from New Jersey with my new friend Madeline.  She's 4 months old.  I ate my jar food instead of the dim sum food.  Maddy and I like to touch each others' faces and smile.  Actually, I like to touch mom's face too, as you can see.

Here's Maddy and I with our Daddies.  Her Daddy's name is Aaron.

Here we are together again.  Aren't we cute?
Here's Mommy, Marissa, Maddy, and me doing that face grabbing thing I love to do!
I'm so excited that they live closer now.  I love to make new friends :)

Drool

So, I'm still a toothless wonder.  Mom says I've been showing teething symptoms for what seems like months now, but I still have no teeth.  I come super close to crawling too, but I still don't do that quite right either.  It's ok.  I'm happy.  Plus, mom is glad that she doesn't have to chase me around yet.

Here I am not quite crawling....

And here I am drooling all over myself, but no teefers.
I am doing something pretty cool though.  Mom has been sleep training me because she says I can't sleep in her bed every night anymore.  Suddenly, I've changed my mind about being a night owl.  I like to go to bed at 8:30 instead of 11:00.  That's quite a change!  So now I'm a big girl and sleep in my crib all by myself until it's time to get up and get ready to start the day at 7am.  Mom says she's really happy, but she misses snuggling in her bed with me.  I kind of miss that too since I prefer that anyway.

9 Months Old

Mom freaked out about me being 9 months old today.  She didn't freak out about 8 months, but to her, 9 months feels awfully close to a year.  I had my 9 month checkup today.  I weigh 17 lbs 1 oz.  I'm 27.5 inches tall.  I've graduated to a big girl car seat.  I don't quite crawl yet but I like to lay on my tummy and scoot backward...until I run into something and can't go any further.  Mom says my tantrums have been getting out of hand so she's been saying "NO!" and giving me that serious face when I try to arch my back while she changes my diaper.  Dr. Leff says I can't have bottles in the middle of the night anymore and that I should be able to go 8 hours without a bottle.  She also said I can start eating meats (hooray) and need to practice more with a sippy cup.  Right now I just like to bang the cup on my high chair.  Oh, and mom and dad are planning to kick me out of their bed.  We'll see how much I like that!  I like to cuddle.  Mom likes to cuddle with me when daddy is gone at work and she has to sleep by herself.  It's time for me to be a big girl and sleep in my crib alone.

Mom got smart and made two signs this month.  I like to wreck my signs because I love to rip paper.  Just ask Grandma.  I loved ripping up her Ralphs coupons!
Look, my fishy butt matches my sign.

Mom had a hard time choosing a picture because she says I'm a cheeseball.

Sorta Sunny Saturday

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood.  Mom says that's what Mr. Rogers says but I don't even know who that guy is.  Anyway, I got to wear my cool tank top and terry shorts.  I played on my little car and with my farm.  I'm in love with my farm.  It makes all kinds of cool sounds.

Mom realized that I have a ton of size 9 months clothes from Carters that I haven't even gotten to wear yet because it's been too cold.  We took a trip to the Carlsbad Outlets to exchange them for 12 month size.  I don't quite wear that size yet but hopefully by the time I do, it'll be pretty and sunny outside.  We ran into Mommy's friend Ritu and her husband Eric.  They stole me from Daddy and brought me into the Carter's store to talk to mommy.  Mom told them that they could steal me anytime but I don't think she really means that.  My mommy loves me.

My hair is growing

Mom says she got tired of my bangs in my face.  We tried a new hairdo today.  We decided it's a hair-do and not a hair-don't so Mommy is gonna get some boombas (that's what we call hair ties) so she can do my hair like this all the time.

Mother's Day

Today was my Mommy's first mother's day.  One year ago, I was in her tummy kicking and rolling around.  When she went to church that Sunday they called up all the mommies & my Mommy went up there and couldn't stop crying.  She was excited to become a mom.  She also said it could be hormones.  What are those?

We stopped by the cemetery today to give flowers to my Grandma Toni.  I wish I could have met her.  Daddy says she would have loved me a lot.

Afterward, Daddy made brunch for Mommy, Granny Lala, and Great Grandma Toots.  It was really tasty.  They let me taste their hash browns but not their mimosas.

Saturday with Grandma

It was time for Mommy to paint the bathroom since Grampoo was finished fixing it up.  Mommy took me to stay with Grandma for the day while she painted.  We played games, banged on pots and pans, and had all kinds of fun.  I tried to throw a tantrum while she put my pajamas on, but she said "NO!" in a serious voice so I knew she meant business so I laid still while she put on my jammies.

Here I am hanging out on her lawn.

Seaport Village

Daddy took Mommy and I to Seaport Village today.  I got to go on the carousel for the very first time.  It was fun!
Then we went to eat.  Mommy has been eating healthy and is very proud of herself.  She says she wants me to learn to eat healthy too so that's why she's doing it.

More friends

I got to meet more friends recently.  I went with Mommy to meet Benjamin (mom says he's my boyfriend), RJ (whose mommy wants him to steal me away from Benjamin), and see Jilly again.  We went to the zoo, but had the most fun just hanging out.  We got to stay with Benjamin and his mommy so here's a few things we did.

We hung out in our jammies.

We had a bath.  Oh, Mommy and Estela (Benjamin's mommy) said that this bath time was brought to you by the letter B.  B is for Benjamin.  B is for Bathtub.  B is for Betrothed.  What does betrothed mean?

Here's all of us at the zoo.

And here we are just hanging out.  Don't we look cute in our diapers?

Klodjana (RJ's mommy) was nice enough to take some pretty cool pictures of me in my baptism outfit.  Mommy didn't like the ones we took at Picture People.  These are much better.

Anyway, we had lots of fun with our friends and I hope we get to see them again soon.  We're all the same age and growing quickly.  Hopefully, we'll all be friends for years to come.
